“Winds in the east, mist coming in. / Like somethin’ is brewin’ and bout to begin. / Can’t put me finger on what lies in store, / But I fear what’s to happen all happened before.” Bert sang.

A wonderful musical that gives us amazement and wonder through the eyes of two small children.

If you don’t know the story of Mary Poppins here it is…When Jane (Karen Dotrice) and Michael (Matthew Garber), the children of the wealthy and uptight Banks family, are faced with the prospect of a new nanny, they are pleasantly surprised by the arrival of the magical Mary Poppins (Julie Andrews). Embarking on a series of fantastical adventures with Mary and her Cockney performer friend, Bert (Dick Van Dyke), the siblings try to pass on some of their nanny’s sunny attitude to their preoccupied parents (David Tomlinson, Glynis Johns).

The lyrics of Mary Poppins were done by Robert B. Sherman and  Richard M. Sherman. Both worked hard to get the right lyrics for these beloved songs.
