“She put herself in your place. All you have to do is put yourself in her place, and the two of you are BOUND to run into each other in SOMEBODY’S place.” Maggie Prescott quoted.
This musical is both funny and serious all at the same time. It starred Audrey Hepburn and Fred Astaire. Both of which are really good at acting. Audrey Hepburn puts on her charm in this unique fun movie about the fashion world.
What exactly is the movie about? Here is the brief plot…Dispatched on an assignment, New York City-based fashion photographer Dick Avery (Fred Astaire) is struck by the beauty of Jo Stockton (Audrey Hepburn), a shy bookstore employee he’s photographed by accident, who he believes has the potential to become a successful model. He gets Jo to go with him to France, where he snaps more pictures of her against iconic Parisian backdrops. In the process, they fall for one another, only to find hurdles in their way.
The film was directed by Stanley Dohen and the costuming was designed by Edith Head.
Its a lot of fun and a lot of laughs in amongst the many musical and dancing numbers.
