“Earth, before the war. New York, before I was born. A place I’ve only seen pictures of. I know you… But we’ve never met. I’m with you… But I don’t know your name. I know I’m dreaming. But it feels like more than that. It feels like a memory. How can that be?” Jack Harper stated as he thought so much of a past that never was.
What is the idea of Oblivion? What was it before a movie; a comic book; a graphic novel? The movie was originally an idea by an artist and writer. You can find the entire article on Bleeding Cool.
Who directed the film? It was directed by Joeseph Kosinski and the score was presented by M83. The score reminded myself of Daft Punk’s Tron Legacy soundtrack. It had an electronic yet wonderful orchestrated feel.
What is the plot of the film? Here is the film version of the concept…In the year 2077, Jack Harper (Tom Cruise) works as a security repairman on an Earth left empty and devastated after a war with aliens. Jack has two weeks left before his mission ends and he joins his fellow survivors on a faraway colony. However, Jack’s concept of reality comes crashing down after he rescues a beautiful stranger (Olga Kurylenko) from a downed spacecraft. The woman’s arrival triggers a chain of events that culminates in Jack’s nearly single-handed battle to save mankind.
What is the story of the comic book that never was? I’ll give you the panels for it then provide some excellent music for your enjoyment.
You can get the soundtrack through Amazon.
